Apple's Steve Jobs took sick leave: what markets are saying

"This time you have questioned its ability to rebound." They were never discussed a succession plan, but it is quite clear that Cook is the guy. I feel like they're being faster and original on the issue. They were clearly appointed who is responsible, Tim Cook. Apple clearly has a very deep bench, it is only jobs. I think that people would decrease the depth of the team at Apple. There is no operational risk for the story, but there is a perceived risk. »

"Short and medium term Apple will continue as usual." Tim Cook is extremely highly regarded, the pipeline for stuff that will be announced this summer has probably already been muzzled, so it isn't as if everything goes to disintegrate in the next six months.

"The role of Mr. jobs is the editor of last resort." He is the guy who looks at a product and said "it is not good enough, you have to go further and do better." Editing and quality control, it provides what they ship has been so important to the success of Apple and thus show after a two and three and four years, i.e. where Apple would really start to feel his absence.

"If it is not able to play the role of Apple, there in the past, is in the display for two or three years, the product range is affected.

"This is bad news for Apple as long as investors are concerned with position more long-term Steve Jobs." But the real impact on the company and its operations will be limited. Jobs continues to be involved in major decisions and Tim Cook has good experience on the day the day of the company.

"Tim is perhaps not as charismatic: Steve but he commands enormous respect….It is very grounded and at the top of products. »

"Apple is always very well performing sales-wise and I don't think people stop buying their product because Steve jobs took sick leave."

"This coming surprise to Apple investors and certainly take some shine off the stock of Apple." But even if never Steve Jobs returns to Apple, I would expect no visible impact and tangible on how Apple is running in the next few years.

"Long-term, you might suspect that because Apple is becoming a very large organization, it may lose some of its edge innovative." The fact that all Apple products placed on the market was followed closely by jobs, also also meant something for what they put on the market.

"But it is something that might pan out for a few years." What they have now in store sufficient to keep them going for a while. »

"It is surprising and not great for Steve himself obviously." We were here before the beginning of 2009, so it will probably be similar to that. Operationally, the company is very well last time, there are some jobs premium in stock but it will be the concern.

"Honestly, the effect on society probably not be that great in terms of fundamental principles." Perception of the company is another matter. Steve Jobs is regarded by the market as a major force in the strategic direction of Apple. If his pancreatic cancer is back, one might be very worried. »

"The reflex is likely to be negative. However, I think Apple is clearly a much larger company to one person and we now have a proof of last point that the company was in safe hands with Tim Cook safe step and I don't think that they get away from their current. »
